MovieWeb to Launch with Comcast Digital Entertainment

by Marc Fishman

We are pleased to announce that MovieWeb (http://www.movieweb.com) will be launching as Comcast Digital Entertainment’s newest affiliate site on January 1, 2010.  With the addition of MovieWeb, CDE expands it’s movie-centric audience, grows our entertainment based inventory and offers a myriad of industry content.

MovieWeb is a leading online filmed entertainment destination covering movies, TV, and DVD.  The site features exclusive news & videos, in-depth editorial, release dates, box office statistics, reviews, active user forums and more!

The unique visitors are composed of tech savvy film enthusiasts and influential consumers.  The site primarily attracts young adults ranging from 18-34, followed by adults aged 35-49, skewing slightly male.

With one of the most comprehensive libraries of movie reviews on the web, a broad coverage of general film and entertainment news updated several times each day, a deep catalog of video, and road and deep DVD and TV sections, MovieWeb is the perfect site to attract the dedicated entertainment-minded audience. We are very excited for all that MovieWeb will bring to Comcast Digital Entertainment.

Comcast Digital Entertainment Ranked 6th by Comscore

by Steve Raymond

G4 (TV channel)

With their latest report Comscore is now accurately reflecting all of the publisher sites in the portfolio (for now), with our newest additions E! Online and G4 TV being added to anchor our Entertainment-News and Gaming roll-ups.  In the Entertainment vertical we are now ranked #6 in reach with 28.5M unique users across the portfolio.  Look for this number to continue to grow in the future as we add more sites and grow our overall traffic.

Our philosophy about our Comscore categorization is very transparent – all of the properties in our Comscore roll-up are entertainment-focused sites on which we represent all advertising sales.  We aren’t playing games with the numbers in order to artificially inflate out reach, like say including song-lyrics sites, or gaming-cheats sites or website building platforms with no advertising on them.  Not that there’s anything wrong with that, its just not how we roll.
